Eastern flank of MAA Flyover to close from tonight for repair work, alternate routes announced
A bus carrying 45 passengers collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa district early Thursday morning, leaving 30 people injured, with at least 10 reported in critical condition. The sleeper bus was traveling from Ujjain to Delhi when the accident occurred near Ladli Ka Bans village.
The crash was attributed to dense fog, which severely reduced visibility on the expressway. Deputy SP Charul Gupta confirmed that the accident took place in front of pillar number 198 on the expressway. "The accident was so severe that the front part of the bus, including the driver’s cabin, was completely destroyed," she said.
Visuals from the site depict a horrific scene with the bus's front section mangled beyond recognition. Emergency response teams arrived promptly and transported the injured passengers to nearby hospitals. Those with critical injuries were shifted to Jaipur for specialized treatment.
Most of the injured passengers are residents of Delhi, with others hailing from Sonipat and Kota. Eyewitnesses at the site reported hearing loud crashes, followed by chaos as passengers struggled to escape the wreckage.
Officials are urging travelers to exercise extreme caution while driving in foggy conditions. The local administration has deployed additional patrols on the expressway to ensure adherence to speed limits and improve road safety during foggy winter mornings.
